The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially signed third-round pick Daylen Everette after selecting the former Georgia cornerback with the 85th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Contract details of the four-year deal were not released.
Everette gives Pittsburgh another young addition in the secondary as the organization continues building depth and competition on the defensive side of the ball. The Steelers showed strong interest in Everette throughout the pre-draft process because of his physicality, length, and experience against top SEC competition.
At Georgia, Everette developed into a dependable presence in the Bulldogs' defense, displaying the versatility to play in both man and zone coverage schemes. His combination of size and athleticism allowed him to consistently match up against some of the top receivers in college football.
In 55 career games for the Bulldogs, Everette recorded 150 tackles, 107 of them solo stops, five tackles for a loss and one sack.
"Really excited about our pick," Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham said shortly after the selection. "From a good program down there in Georgia. Came up big in some of the biggest games for that program. He is used to playing in a lot of big games. He gets the ball. The physical attributes."
Everette appeared in 55 games for the Bulldogs, recording 150 tackles, 107 of them solo stops. He had five tackles for a loss and one sack.
"I got to know him a little bit in terms of his personality when we went down there for the pro day, had a great dinner with him, great interaction," said Graham. "The seriousness he has about football. The focus he has as a young man. I was really impressed by that.
Pittsburgh entered the draft looking to continue adding younger talent to the secondary, and Everette's skill set made him an appealing fit within the Steelers' defensive system. In addition to competing for snaps at cornerback, his physical style of play could also make him an early contributor on special teams.
With his contract now finalized, Everette will participate in rookie minicamp and offseason workouts as he officially begins his NFL career in Pittsburgh.
