Despite Aaron Rodgers gearing up for a retirement tour, the Pittsburgh Steelers were recently snubbed as a potential fit for Brendan Sorsby via the NFL Supplemental Draft.
Apparently, the idea of proven quarterback guru Mike McCarthy getting his hands on Sorsby isn't intriguing enough to earn the Steelers a spot on ESPN's top-five ranking , as Ben Solak excluded Pittsburgh from the overall fit for the draft.
Despite the Steelers having more questions than answers regarding the future of the quarterback position, Solak ranked the following five teams as top-five fits for Sorsby: the Green Bay Packers (No. 1), Carolina Panthers (No. 2), Minnesota Vikings (No. 3), Indianapolis Colts (No. 4), and Atlanta Falcons (No. 5).
Sorsby, considered at one point to be one of the top quarterback prospects of the 2027 NFL Draft class, lost his NCAA eligibility following a gambling controversy in which he admitted to making thousands of bets worth at least $90,000.
Although the gambling issue wasn't a "disqualifier" for the Steelers, and the team was reportedly "doing their homework" on Sorsby, it appears Pittsburgh will continue to be counted out heading into the NFL Supplemental Draft.
