Texas A&M junior WR reportedly suffers injury in spring practice
On Thursday, Texas A&M's seventh practice of the spring season, and third full open to the media, provided more clarity on both sides of the ball, while the offense, once again led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed , who returns for his second full starting season. In the 2026 signing class, freshman wide receivers Aaron Gregory, Madden Williams, Mike Brown, and Jayden Warren have all stood out.
However, two of the Aggies ' starting wide receivers from the 2024 signing class, Ashton Bethel-Roman and, now, Terry Bussey , have sustained injuries this spring, while Bussey's reported lower-body injury suffered during Thursday's practice occurred after the junior got tangled up with cornerback Julian Humphrey during a 1-on-1 drill, and did not return to practice.
Bethel-Roman's injury was similar, suffered during 1-on-1 coverage, while also didn't return to practice. As of Thursday afternoon, zero updates have been provided. Bussey, who reeled in 18 receptions for 195 yards and one touchdown during his second season, is expected to make a jump, but could now miss the remainder of spring practice, which includes the Maroon & White Spring Game.
Bussey's elite versatility has led to offseason questions regarding his best position, as the former five-star prospect was expected to play wide receiver or cornerback at the college level, but given his speed and impressive route running, coach Mike Elko and new OC Holmon Wiggins felt that receiver was the best fit regarding his playing future.
Stay tuned for updates regarding both receivers' injury status.
