Texas A&M star signal caller confirms he is returning next season

Texas A&M football fans received some good news on Monday morning: starting quarterback Marcel Reed will be returning to Aggieland next year.

While this may not be groundbreaking news, it’s still exciting to know that A&M will retain one of its most dynamic veteran playmakers for the upcoming season. With significant roster turnover expected, having experienced players—especially those from this season—will help pass the standard on to the next generation from the players’ perspective.

On the podcast “Outta Pocket” with Robert Griffin III and Grete Griffin, Reed confirmed that he would be forgoing the NFL in the spring to remain the signal-caller for the Maroon & White. When asked if he was coming back, he kept it simple:

"I'm coming back"

Reed has developed into one of the better quarterbacks in the NCAA and has led the Aggies to their first CFP appearance in school history. He still has work to do before becoming an NFL-caliber quarterback, but if he continues to put in the effort as he did last season, he could make a significant jump when draft projections are released this time next year.
