Tyler Onyedim knew he was the pick when Broncos traded (watch his highlights)

Defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim had a feeling of where he was going when the Denver Broncos traded from the second round to the third round of the 2026 NFL draft last week.

"I prayed," Onyedim recalled to Denver media members in a post-selection conference call. "I prayed to God. We talked about this. I’ve been praying about this my whole entire life, so just me waiting. I know the coach really wanted me. I saw Denver on the clock. I saw they traded. I just had a feeling they were picking me. I just had a feeling. When they traded, I looked at my agent, and I just knew. I knew what it was. That’s how I felt."

Onyedim was selected by the Broncos with the 66th overall pick in the third round of the draft after a tremendous five-year career in college at Iowa State and Texas A&M. As a member of the Cyclones, Onyedim played in 40 career games, making 90 total tackles (37 solo, 53 assisted), 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery and one pass deflection. In 2024, Onyedim was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 defender.

In his lone season with the Aggies, Onyedim had the best year of his collegiate career, with career highs in total tackles (48), tackles for loss (8.5), and sacks (2.5), also forcing a fumble.

Check out some of Onyedim's best plays from his college career below, and think of what he could do on an already dominant Denver defense in 2026.
