Updates Provided for Injured MN Wild Talent
It has been quite the turnaround for the Minnesota Wild . After a slow and ugly start to the season , they have been an absolute wagon of late. Jesper Wallstedt looks unbeatable , and the 14-7-5 record has John Hynes’ team flying high.
Maybe more impressive than just the results is that Minnesota is on this hot stretch while being down multiple key players . As they look to find full strength once again, progress is being made.
Marco Rossi ramping up for Minnesota Wild
Minnesota Wild center Marco Rossi has been out since November 11 with a lower body injury. Early in the season center play was at the crux of the issues for the team, and getting him back more provide an even further boost. The Athletic’s Michael Russo provided an update the Austrian’s timeline.

Minnesota hammered out an extension for their former 9th overall pick this offseason. After playing 82 games each of the last two seasons, it was expected he would have a key role this year.
The franchise and young star have been at odds in recent memory, but quality play quiets all of that. Although he has been worth a minus-6 through 17 games , Rossi does have four goals and nine assists. Hynes can insert him back into the lineup and expect the high level of play to continue.
It doesn’t sound like Rossi will immediately be available on the road trip, but the fact that he’s making it bodes well for his chances to return.
MN Wild without Danila Yurov
Rookie Danila Yurov has not missed considerable time this season, but he will be unavailable to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday . He was injured on November 26 against the Chicago Blackhawks , but has been available each of the past two contests.
It would be a positive if Yurov avoided a lengthy absence. The fact that he played for two games following the initial issue would seem to be a positive.
In 21 games this season Yurov has three goals and four assists. The 21-year-old Russian is getting his first experience in the NHL, and he’s making an impact while averaging just over 11.5 minutes of time on ice.
Minnesota starts the road swing on Tuesday in Edmonton . They also go to Calgary , Vancouver , and finish in Seattle with the Kraken.
