Former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer — who currently pitches for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League– was involved in a car accident on Wednesday in Arizona. Bauer was reportedly not at fault for the crash and he is reportedly okay. His McLaren seemed to have been dealt a lot of damage, however. On Thursday, TMZ Sports shared a new video that was taken after the car accident.
The pitcher is seen getting out of the car. Bauer seemed to be confused about what had just occurred.
Long Island Ducks president Michael Pfaff shared a statement following the car accident.
"We are aware that Trevor Bauer was in a car accident Wednesday afternoon. Trevor is currently on the injured list and was receiving treatment for back spasms in Arizona (where he lives and his facility is) when his car was run into by another vehicle. We have communicated with Trevor and his camp and are thankful to hear he is ok. He will continue his rehabilitation and there remains no timeline for his return to the field."
Bauer, 35, last pitched in MLB in 2021. He was placed on administrative leave during the 2021 MLB season while an investigation occurred into sexual assault allegations that had been made against the pitcher. Bauer ended up receiving a 324-game suspension, but the suspension was later reduced to 194 games. However, Bauer was never criminally charged.
The pitcher has been open about his desire to pitch at the MLB level once again. In fact, Bauer even offered to play for free in MLB . For now, he will continue to pitch for the Long Island Ducks.
