The Philadelphia Eagles recently participated in the 2026 NFL Draft, drawing rave reviews for their selection of Makai Lemon to help out the wide receiver room, among other moves. The Eagles are hoping to bounce back after a rough 2025 season that saw them lose in the Wild Card round of the playoffs at home on the heels of their 2024 Super Bowl run.
On Tuesday morning, the Eagles got an updat e on a key member of their front office.
“After 17 years with the #Eagles organization, assistant general manager Alec Halaby has decided to step away to start a new professional chapter of his career, per me and @MikeGarafolo,” reported NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter. “The personnel executive was a key contributor to both Eagles Super Bowl championships.”
Halaby has since released a statement showing gratitude toward the organization.
“I am deeply grateful to the Eagles organization, especially Jeffrey and Howie, for giving me a chance to work in the game I love,” read the statement in part, per the Eagles’ official team account on X, formerly Twitter. “…It has been a wonderful journey. Go birds.”
Roseman also released a statement, adding that he wishes Halaby “the absolute best.”
Halaby played a key role in helping the Eagles assemble arguably the most talented roster in the NFL over the last few years, which culminated in a 2024-25 Super Bowl championship, the team’s second in franchise history, both of which occurred in the last decade.
The Eagles will have some key questions to answer the rest of this offseason without Halaby, including what the future holds for wide receiver AJ Brown , whose days in Philadelphia appear to be nearing an end.
