The Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream for the second time in the span of one week, helping them improve to 14-7 on the season. Atlanta has now lost five straight games as well, dropping to 12-9 on the season.
Veronica Burton led the way for the Valkyries in the 88-83 win, recording 21 points and four assists. All-Star forward Gabby Williams added 19 points, two assists and three steals.
Despite the trio of Allisha Gray , Rhyne Howard and Angel Reese producing incredible numbers, combining for 58 points and 22 rebounds, the Valkyries' depth was just too much for them. Golden State 's bench outscored Atlanta's second unit, 32-18.

While it was a remarkable win for the Valkyries, it wasn't without its issues. For one, backup guard Kaitlyn Chen received a technical foul during the game, putting her in line to pay a fine.
Early in the fourth quarter, the WNBA referees hit Chen with a technical foul for waving off the referee, according to Kenzo Fukuda of ClutchPoints. It came after Chen committed a loose-ball foul.
It was Chen's first technical foul of the season, which is punishable by a $500 fine. The WNBA rules state that a player's first three technical fouls each carry a $500 fine. The fourth through seventh techs cost $1,000 each, while anything beyond that carries a $1,500 fine and a one-game suspension.
For what it's worth, Chen is not the only member of the Valkyries who is set to be fined after the Dream game. Cecilia Zandalasini was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul late in the second quarter, a violation that carries a $500 fine.
