“It doesn’t look too serious, but enough to not want to wait a couple of more days,” Boone said.

Stanton was hitting .256 with a .724 OPS and three home runs before suffering the injury . New York is hopeful that Stanton will not have to miss too much time. Aaron Judge and Ben Rice have led the offense this season, but Stanton still offers no shortage of power in the middle of the lineup.

The Yankees will continue to monitor and provide updates on Giancarlo Stanton ’s injury status as they are made available.

New York is 19-10 overall so far in the 2026 season. The ball club currently holds a 1.5 game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East division.

The Yankees have found regular season success for the most part in recent years. However, they have not won the World Series since 2009. New York is doing everything it can to build a championship-caliber roster around Judge. Having Stanton healthy for the postseason will obviously be of the utmost importance.

It is only April at the moment, so the Yankees are understandably going to proceed with extreme caution whenever a player is dealing with an injury. The team could be getting healthy fairly soon, though, as players such as Gerrit Cole , Carlos Rodon and Anthony Volpe continue to recover from their injury concerns.
