The New York Yankees endured a rare shootout with the Anaheim Angels . Aaron Judge ripping a 456-foot home run against Yusei Kukuchi brought fans to their feet . But how the game ended surely sparked conversations.

That’s because the Yankees won in the wildest way imaginable: Through a walk-off wild pitch.

New York broke the 10-10 tie in the process at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Ryan McMahon took the walk off the 86 miles per hour slider. Jose Caballero ended up scoring the winner as he advanced from third base. Angels relief pitcher Jordan Romano threw the errant pitch that decided the outcome of this American League showdown.

NYY ended up scoring three total during the ninth in closing out the victory. Trent Grisham sparked the final scoring by blasting a 391-foot homer that brought Jazz Chisolm home. The blast tied the game up at 10-all before Caballero walked it off.

Judge, meanwhile, engaged in an epic back-and-forth hitting contest with Angels all-star Mike Trout .

“I’m sure you guys probably promoted that, and that part of it certainly delivered,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after the win.

Trout went to the plate five times: Blasting two homers for Anaheim in the top of the sixth and eighth innings. Trout pounded his home runs facing Tim Hill and Camilo Doval , respectively. The latter HR traveled 445 feet in the air and handed the Angels the 10-8 lead.

But New York once again escaped in the wildest fashion through a wild pitch. Boone even showed no panic amid the Yankees’ five-game slide . The Yanks are now 9-7 overall.
