Following a slow start to their season, the San Francisco Giants have made a trade.

The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired outfielder Luis Matos from the San Francisco Giants for cash. Milwaukee completed the trade Monday and made room for Matos on the 40-man roster by designating left-handed pitcher Sammy Peralta for assignment. Matos had been designated for assignment by the Giants last week.

This small trade is an interesting depth addition for the Brewers.

Luis Matos and Tyler Fitzgerald once were considered big pieces of the San Francisco Giants' future, but one was traded and the other DFA'd on Monday.
