AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Matas Vokietaitis scored 22 points on 9-for-9 shooting from the field and No. 7 Texas opened its season with a 109-59 victory over Chicago State on Monday night.

Ball security, defensive rebounding, and Matas Vokietaitis give Sean Miller's rebuilt Longhorns a clear assignment in Monday's season opener.

Miller rebuilt the roster around 7-foot center Matas Vokietaitis with 11 new players, including five transfers.
