The Utah Mammoth moved closer to securing their first playoff berth since relocating with a decisive win over the Kings, strengthening their hold on a tightly contested Western Conference wild card spot.

Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe's goals wouldn't be enough in the LA Kings 6-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena. The Kings have now lost five of their last six games and only have nine games remaining in the regular season. LA remains in the third place Wild Card spot at 29-26-18.

The Kings are running out of time to secure the final wild-card playoff spot in the West, and their 6-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth doesn't help their cause.

Alexander Kerfoot and Logan Cooley scored two goals each, Mikhail Sergachev tied a franchise single-game record with four assists, and the Utah Mammoth beat the Los Angeles Kings 6-2 on Saturday night. Nick Schmaltz and Jack McBain also scored, Karel Vejmelka made 29 saves, as the Mammoth avoided a second losing streak of at least three games in March.

Big performances from the Mammoth led to an easy blowout win over the Kings on Saturday.
