Ross Colton and Jack Drury face their former team for the first time as the Colorado Avalanche visit Nashville looking to build on a bounce-back win against the Lightning.

Chris Drury' gala "Retool-Rebuild-Reviival is on – for better or worse. Some Thoughts:

The Avalanche used a pick acquired in the Valeri Nichushkin trade to select Egor Shilov at No. 43 overall after a breakout QMJHL season in which he led Victoriaville in scoring.

The Colorado Avalanche have announced they have re-signed both Brett Kulak and Brent Burns

Bowen Byram, a Cup-winning former Avalanche defenseman, is facing the same familiar challenge in Buffalo, where strong production hasn’t quieted ongoing questions about his long-term role and fit.

Despite a few offseason departures, the Colorado Avalanche may already have internal replacements lined up, suggesting their center depth concerns might be less urgent than they appear.

The offseason is in full swing, and it started early for former Lightning forward Ross Colton, who was traded to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

In an odd turn of events, two former Tampa Bay Lightning draft picks were traded for one another on Tuesday while one of them is already committed to play overseas.
