The New York Islanders have kicked off trade deadline season with a minor trade completed with the St. Louis Blues.

With the Olympics completed and the NHL roster freeze lifted, the Islanders have swung a minor trade.

Matt Luff has been recalled to the St. Louis Blues roster on an emergency basis twice in two days as the Blues wait to find out if Jimmy Snuggerud, Jake Neighbours, and Pius Suter are able to play on Saturday.
