Maren Haile-Selassie scored early for Chicago and that was all Chris Brady needed to help the Fire earn a third straight victory, beating Atlanta United 1-0 on Saturday night. Haile-Selassie scored for the first time this season — with assists from Jonathan Bamba and Philip Zinckernagel — to give Chicago a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. It was Haile-Selassie's 14th goal in 96 career appearances for the Fire.

Philip Zinckernagel scored 17 seconds into the match and Chris Brady made it stand up as the Chicago Fire handed Nashville SC its first loss this season with a 1-0 victory on Saturday night. Chicago (3-2-1) stunned Nashville (4-1-1) when Zinckernagel used passes from Jonathan Bamba and Anton Salétros to score for the first time this season. Zinckernagel had 15 goals and 15 assists last season, his first in the league.

Chris Brady finished with three saves for the Chicago Fire and Patrick Schulte stopped two shots for Columbus as the longtime rivals played to a scoreless draw in the Crew's home opener on Saturday night. Brady had two saves and Schulte wasn’t tested in the first half.
