What makes this such a wildly impactful final isn't just that it's a rematch of the last time that we saw the Knicks here.

It isn't just that we're still, we're looking at the brand of the Knicks.

It's also that everything we talk about with Madison Square Garden creates moments.

And now Wemby the Alien gets the opportunity to walk into the Garden, taking on, again, one of the biggest media markets, one of the biggest legacy arenas, one of the biggest brands in all of sports for one of the most important brands to basketball heads.

This feels like a moment maker.

Either, either the Knicks are about to take this meteoric leap for the next 50 years, 'cause it's been 50 years since they won a chip, and there was that much sustenance to the legacy conversation from one championship 50 years ago.

Either they're about to recharge that for the next 50 years, or we're about to see a supercharged rocket put behind the brand of Victor Wembanyama.

Either way, this is a win-win for the NBA.

And this is a narrative maker.

Because if the Spurs do win a championship, if Wemby, at 22 years old, in year three of his career, in the first postseason that he has ever played, and wins a championship, I think that's a fair conversation to have.

Maybe if it might feel a little hyperbolic, I think it's a fun conversation that we will have if they do win a championship.

And it's not even just Wemby, it's Dylan Harper, it's Stephon Castle, it's that entire core that they've built over the last couple of years.

And then if the Knicks win a championship Oh, we're talking about New York City, right?

Winning a championship is great and all, but winning a championship in New York City, the Knicks?

Well, that just hits a little bit different.

All of a sudden we're talking about are the Knicks the next dynasty in the NBA?

Because for some reason, every time a team wins a championship, we have to talk about dynasty.

But that's the conversation that we'll have.

We'll start to talk about is Jalen Brunson not getting enough respect?

We'll start to talk about Jalen Brunson on the Mount Rushmore of New York Knicks.

Are we gonna start to talk about Jalen Brunson on the Mount Rushmore of players in the NBA over the last decade?

That's the kind of narrative maker that this series is going to have.

Especially if, if the New York Knicks win a championship, they will have to slay the ultimate dragon that exists in the NBA right now, and that is Victor Wembanyama.

So no matter what happens in this series, if it's a sweep one way or another, that's a narrative.

If it's a seven-game all-timer kind of series where you're on the edge of your seat the entire time, and all of our nails are brittle down to the bone because we've been chewing them with it, back and forth, 48 minutes, that's going to be a narrative
