That 49ers legend Roger Craig, who was a huge part of the Bill Walsh, the Montana, The Young, the Jerry Rice dynasty there in San Francisco.
What was your reaction when you saw that Roger Craig was finally getting his due and will be enshrined forever in Canton?
Yeah, two, two, reactions to this.
First of all, for Roger Craig, obviously it's well deserved.
The, the, the debut member of the 1,000-1,000 Club, 1,000 receiving yards, 1,000 rushing yards.
He absolutely deserved it.
He was an essential part of those 49ers teams.
But it brings up the thing that is the most maddening about Hall of Fames to me, where you have players that you know are deserving, but we just keep making them wait again and again and again.
Roger Craig is 66 now.
He, he deserved to be enjoying this.
He deserved to be wearing that gold jacket out for the last 20-some, 30-some years.
It, it Why hold the flowers from these guys when we know that they are capable of doing it, they know that they have capable of earning it.
They've already put the numbers on the field.
I mean, there are numerous examples, baseball players, enshrined on their 15th attempt.
It's not like they, you know, it's not like they added their numbers to their, to their ledger in those intervening 14 years.
So yeah, if a player is eligible early on, he should go in early on.
No more of this waiting for the Veterans Committee.
Make the call, let them in.
