Brandon Aiyuk says he fired his agent, reiterates desire to join Commanders

So Brandon Aiyuk keeps going to Instagram, and social media, and YouTube, everywhere.
and he's let us know that his agent's friends with GM John Lynch, that John Lynch showed up to Aiyuk's house uninvited once, that Aiyuk doesn't like Kyle Shanahan, that Lynch apologized on behalf of Kyle at one point, that it's a respect thing, not a money thing, and that he's not stepping foot on 49ers property until October 19th, which would be when Washington plays there.
His sense is, "I'm going to be cut, and you're going to do it."
But here's the problem with that, Caroline.
There's actual minutiae that matters.
Right now, he is on the did not report list for San Francisco, and for anyone that doesn't know what that means, it means he doesn't count.
He doesn't count against their salary cap, he doesn't count against their roster.
San Francisco's not obligated to do a damn thing for Brandon Aiyuk until he actually shows up for work.
If he were to show up, then they'd have to make a decision of if he's going on the active list, then they'd have to worry about his salary cap numbers.
They'd have to worry about all of it.
But right now, San Francisco doesn't have to care about whatever Brandon Aiyuk wants, because until he shows up for work, he doesn't count.
Yeah, his base salary has already been voided for the 2026 season.
When he decided to not get, you know, the MRI for his knee, then there were a lot of bonuses that were already voided.
So the 49ers have zero financial incentive to move on from Brandon Aiyuk.
The 49ers can just sit on Brandon Aiyuk's contract, and it's not like they're just writing him blank checks to do nothing.
They are not paying him.
So the 49ers have zero incentive, they have zero push to, to trade Brandon Aiyuk.
He's not in the building, so it's not like he's, you know, this dark storm cloud that's kind of, you know, being a distraction, at least in the building.
Probably a distraction outside of the building because of everything that he's posting on social media.
But still, at the end of the day, the 49ers are not on the hook for anything as long as Brandon Aiyuk is under contract and as long as he doesn't show up.
So, Brandon Aiyuk has said this several times, that, you know, "I'm not gonna be in a 49ers uniform.
I'm gonna be somewhere else.
I'm gonna be playing somewhere else in 2026.
They're just gonna keep paying me, and I'm gonna be somewhere else."
I don't think so.
