Playoff-aspiring teams have the worst depth at forward.

We'll start there, Ryan.

OK, I'm going with Boston, and I know Boston was last in the division last year, but that was just a blip, right?

Like, they have Jeremy Swayman, they have Charlie McAvoy, who's now healthy.

They have David Pasternak.

They have a new coach in Marco Sturm, so I believe Boston will at least fight for a wild card spot.

Having said that, after David Pasternak, who had 106 points last year, their next highest scorer was Morganey with 57.

And then after that it was Brad Marchand with 47, who was with them, and he's not even there, and he didn't finish the season with them.

So I think, in terms of forward depth, the Bruins could have an Achilles heel.

But I do believe if they have success this year, it's going to be a lot of 2-1, 3-2 games.

I think they're going to be relying more on team defense and goaltending and structure under Marco Sturm, than they would, you know, being a high flying team.

Hmm.

All right, Michael, what do you got at forward?

Yeah, I'm going to go with the Devils, and it just feels like, the Devils are always a Jack Hughes injury away from potentially missing the playoffs or just having their season kind of, you know, go down the tubes.

And when you look at it, it's because their third and fourth lines aren't that impressive.

Like, they get Connor Brown this year.

They've got Evgeny Dainov, but if you take away Hughes and then Bratt, and then Niko Hischier, you know, we'll see what Timo Meier can do this year.

Andre Palat just keeps getting older.

I really liked him.

That tends to happen.

It's the worst.

Yeah, everyone gets old, right?

So I just don't see the same depth and, you know, even this season, I know we're talking forwards, but, you know, Luke Hughes, you know, big question mark as to when he's going to sign, that's still dangling over them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hughes goes down, or, you know, obviously, if Luke Hughes goes down, that'd be massive too.

But if Jack Hughes gets another injury, I'm sure he's tired of talking about his health and trying to stay healthy, but let's face it, you know, there's a reason why we keep talking about Jack Hughes and injury situations because he can't stay healthy since he's not the biggest guy.

So, you know, a lot of question marks for me when I'm looking at the Devils.
