The New York Mets have fired, parted ways, let go, laid off their skipper, Carlos Mendoza.
I have been adamant, or at least I was adamant for much of the season as the Mets tumbled down into an abyss, a whirlpool of woe, that none of this was Carlos Mendoza's fault, that the roster construction and the player performance did not fall on this man's shoulders, considering, one, how bad the roster had been playing, and two, he is definitely good at being a manager.
And I figured that David Stearns, the Mets president of baseball operations, understood that this was not Carlos Mendoza's fault, right?
That this was not his burden to bear.
However, I think it reached a certain point this week where the Mets had to do something, and that something is getting rid of a guy who, in my opinion, like, is get- he'll get another job, like, almost immediately, like next year.
This is a really unfortunate way for his time in Queens to end
