What is the purpose of the hearing before we even get to the legislation?
Is this just, is it sort of tantamount to a press conference?
I think the purpose of most of these hearings, have been to, answer questions from lawmakers, the ones who didn't author the bill, obviously.
And the, the idea is that they'll get some answers, on sort of the landscape of college athletics from the witnesses.
That's always the idea, that they're gonna get some kind of idea of how this bill would sort of fit into the landscape of college sports.
that- that's the, in theory, how they normally are, are, they're supposed to go.
Now, this one's different from a lot of the other ones.
Well, one, it's in the Senate.
A lot of the hearings have been in the House, and most people would acknowledge that the House is a little, different from the Senate.
Let's put it that way .
Put it that way.
I mean, people up here call the House the circus, if that gives you an idea.
so it, it's in a, it, I think it's in a place that, it takes, takes things a little more seriously, maybe you could say.
But also, to me, the biggest difference is that there's actually a bill to discuss.
Guys, most of the hearings we've had up here have not been for a bill, over a bill or some kind of legislation specifically.
It's just been, "Hey, let's talk about college sports issue."
Right?
And it's turned into a lot of things that don't have anything to do with college sports.
So now we actually have bill, a bill text that can be discussed.
