Here comes Tarik Skubal.
As soon as we are done recording this, I will be hopping in my car and driving up to Detroit, Michigan to watch this series, to watch Tarik Skubal take on his old friends, and, pretty excited about it.
I think it's gonna be really weird for a lot of reasons.
I- It's gonna be so weird it's, I- Gonna be so weird.
I saw some Tigers fans being like, "You know, I, I'm not Like, don't boo Ta-" I would be floored if he gets booed.
I- that would be one of the most shocking boos- Can't get booed that I can remember.
Can't get booed.
Right?
You can boo.
Can't get booed.
If they get booed- Boo every other Dodger.
He gets booed- Like, yeah if, if he get, if they boo Skubal, move this fru- fricking franchise to Nashville.
Like, we can't be doing that.
Anyway, so Skubal against his old team is, is really something.
I, like, wonder, and I guess I could ask him this afterwards depending on how it goes.
It's funny that for all, all year we were talking about, "Okay, oh, Dodgers are gonna do Skubal, Dodgers are gonna do Skubal."
I, I, I didn't really think about Like, I didn't look at the schedule and think, "Oh, the Dodgers are playing in Detroit not long after the deadline," until after it happened.
I did think about that.
And I, I almost wonder if he was thinking, even if he was looking at the Brew.
Like, I don't know if the Brewers are playing the Tigers at, at the I don't, I don't think they are.
But how much Skubal thought about that.
How quickly after he got traded to the Dodgers did he look at the schedule and be like, "Oh man, I'm gonna pitch there in a few weeks."
So I'm curious about that.
And, and the, the disappointing part about this is that the Tigers have really faded.
I think when we looked at this on the schedule after it first happened and the Tigers were still kinda having this resurgence, we were like, "Oh man," like, "that could really matter for both teams."
The Tigers just lost a series to the Rays.
They are really, now they're really hurt on the offensive side.
They're just running out of gas.
Their playoff odds have plummeted.
So doesn't feel as important.
I also think that'll probably make it easier to just be like, "All right, we're, we're moving on.
Let's cheer Tarik and just-" Yeah "hopefully not embarrass ourselves against the Dodgers."
