Alexis Ohanian, also known as Serena Williams' husband, made a massive multi-year donation to the UVA women's basketball program in 2024.
According to Sportico, it was a record-breaking $776,000 annually in each of the next four years, making it the largest gift in the program's history.
Now, the goal is to boost recruiting, improve player retention, and compete at the highest level.
Two years later, and it's working.
Virginia just made history becoming the first first forward team to reach the Sweet 16, and it's their first trip back since 1996.
