The major league debut of right-handed pitcher Chase Burns.
And uh I would say this did not disappoint as he comes out and strikes out the 1st 6 batters, or I guess the 1st 5 allows a single, 6 strikeouts through the 1st 2 innings.
And while he ultimately leaves with a no.
Decision.
The Reds go on to win in extra innings.
It's so great when it's like, hey, go watch Chase Burns.
He throws really hard and has this really special slider, and then it takes 30 seconds for you to basically see what Chase Burns is all about.
It was, it was very, very satisfying to watch.
First impressions, they do matter, and Chase Burns will now always be the guy who collected his 1st 6 outs.
As a big leaguer on strikeouts.
Now, I thought the most impressive at bat was the one against Ben Rice in the first inning.
I know Rice homered off of him later in the game, but he goes down 3-0, and he's just like, just give me one second, Ben Rice, let me just pull out three consecutive 99 mile an hour fastballs, um, and then he strikes him out.
It is cool when you get to Announce yourself in in that state because not all, not all Major League debuts come against Aaron Judge, right?
And so there there's only one of those in general and then to to be able to do it and look this good and give Cincinnati, you know, another really, really, really special arm.
I think he had said before the start, like, my welcome to the big, I'm paraphrasing here, but my welcome to the big leagues moment will be seeing Aaron Judge in the box, and here I am facing the greatest hitter alive.
First pitch to judge.
It is like a elevated hanging slider, not a great pitch, but like catches the middle of the zone, middle up, easily a strike, and the um just misses it.
Completely misses it, calls it a ball, and in that situation, Some young pitchers making their debut would maybe freak out, get out of sync, and get out of sorts.
Nope.
Chase Burns foul ball, swinging strike, swinging strike.
Thank you, Aaron Judge.
Have a great day.
I, yeah, you're so right, dude, like this being against the Yankees was important.
