Breaking news impacting the US Open.

World number one Jannik Sinner has announced he is withdrawing from the upcoming Open due to a knee injury.
25-year-old Italian has been out of action since winning Wimbledon last month.
He also took to social media to explain his statement that he has made on social media.
"Even though I've been working hard with my team and my medical staff, we now have to make the difficult decision that I will not be able to compete at the US Open this year."
Been back on the court in Monte Carlo over the last couple of days.
Unable to get his body to where, Caroline, he feels like he can represent his play to the best.
He will now step out of this tournament.
It's a huge loss for the tournament.
Mm-hmm.
Huge loss for the Open.
A huge opportunity for everybody else in the field.
A huge loss for the tournament for several reasons.
One, he's the world number one, and the US Open, is put up on this pedestal, and it's an event that's better when the best players in the world are competing against one another.
So just his absence there i- is unfortunate.
It's also unfortunate that we won't get to see this Alcaraz and Sinner battle.
A battle of the two best players in the world.
A, a battle that we've seen in so many major finals over the last couple of years, and unfortunate that we won't get to see Jannik Sinner come back and try to get some revenge on Carlos Alcaraz, who beat him in the US Open final last year.
So we won't get that kind of cinema.
We won't get that storyline, and it's a rivalry that is unfolding before our very eyes that I think has been captivating for even the most casual of tennis fans.
So, good on Jannik Sinner for being able to take a step back and work on whatever that he needs to work through, but unfortunate that we won't get to see both returns of both Carlos Alcaraz, who's gonna make his return to the US Open after he's been out with a wrist injury since April.
Great to see Carlos Alcaraz back, but unfortunate that we won't get to see that revenge factor and that rivalry go head-to-head in New York.
And as Patrick McEnroe pointed out on Yahoo Sports Daily with both of us, this does provide opportunity for the rest of the field.
We'll see if somebody new- Mm-hmm can take advantage of it, and a new star can be made in the process.
