I'm fascinated by how they're gonna-- how the Knicks want to deal with Wemby, and ultimately what the offensive approach for Wemby is going to be offensively in this series.
Well, this is again why it being a new series, as important as, as it is, is very interesting.
Because San Antonio, we just saw a series where, hey, Victor Wembanyama, you definitely need to be assertive early to set a tone.
But we've seen San Antonio throughout these playoffs say, "Hey, you know what?
We're gonna let our defense establish what we're here to do.
We're gonna get out and let our guards have a chance to flow and attack and get downhill, and then we'll sprinkle Wemby in, in the different ways that we do," whether that's getting him off ball actions, whether that's having him in pick and roll as a screener, inverted pick and roll, elbow touches.
The entire versatility box of Wembanyama is always something they can deploy.
Will they have the same urgency they had in the Oklahoma City Thunder series gets very interesting.
I-- To your matchup point, I think for me it's more so the timeliness of it.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks start out with KAT on Wembanyama and say, "You know what?
Let's keep OG for a certain reason."
The tricky part is h-how do the Spurs wanna handle it, because Karl-Anthony Towns against a big has been lucrative for New York.
It's been the secret sauce.
So if they wanna start small, okay, how do the Knicks adjust?
Do they use KAT as a hub?
Is that something that's fantastic?
If you're the Spurs and you see KAT guarding Wemby, okay, this is something that's familiar.
If they wanna go with, they have multiple wings they can throw at Wemby, which I think is the interesting factor.
Throughout these playoffs, we've seen people put smaller people on Wemby, and some of the smalls are just the type where he's like, "I'm-- We're not doing this anymore."
You know what I mean?
Like, and Caruso- You come in with the- Like Caruso and Jrue were very, very active, but there are some of the times where it's just like we're just gonna get the ball here and, and go to work.
And so, okay, do we wanna just keep a big on Wemby and now limit ourselves that way or just expand as the game goes on?
I think that's, that's where it gets more interesting to me.
