But as we work our way into the month of September, we should be watching the Rookie of the Year races with names like Kate Horton, Drake Baldwin, and Roman Anthony.

There's plenty of production to go around, but the player who's been the crown jewel of this year's rookie class is undoubtedly A's rookie first baseman Nick Kurtz.

After being the 4th overall pick in last year's draft, Kurtz has been everything for the Sacramento A's.

Currently, leading all rookies in OPS, homers, and RBIs, Kurtz has been one of the best first basemen in baseball this season.

And since the All-Star break, he's been one of the best players in baseball, hitting close to .400 with an OPS near 1.300 and 10 home runs.

Kurtz has shown that he can be a force in the middle of the A's lineup for years to come.

And if he continues on this pace, we're gonna be talking about Kurtz with the best first baseman for a while.
