Good.

I think I'm feeling good.

Um, moving my feet.

I got a great off summer.

You know, it's kind of work I get faster, stronger and thinking I'm more solid on my feet moving quicker, obviously it's a few days, but I felt really good in the game and so to build off that.

Yeah, it was, it was kind of good to get into it.

It's not like a full goal.

I think there's still a lot of respect out there and you know, guys aren't trying to necessarily take each other's heads off, but they're still competing hard, trying to win battles like obviously something improved for everybody.

So I think that was a good first step and I think I did pretty well.

Uh, last season about the pressure of staying in the NHL.

What does that feel like?

Well, I got the pressure of making the NHL again, so it's uh it's a little different.

Um.

You know, obviously last year was, you know, trying to stay the whole year and then there's moments where I thought I got a little comfortable.

So I think coming to campus here, I didn't want to take anything for granted.

Um, I think I'm ready to play every day, fighting for a spot, and I know that there's a lot of young guys, a lot of competition, guys are showing up and you can see it up there, you can see it, you know, in preseason games and stuff.

So, uh, I think, you know, I got a big opportunity here on the weekend to, to, you know, probably play a game or two and showcase what I've gotten what I what I've improved on.

So I'm looking forward to that.

Or the last year you were here.

No I do it Yeah, it's, it's really, really motivating, like obviously going home this summer and feeling all that love, that support and Just kind of seeing, not that my life's changed, but just how people see me now that, you know, obviously I've played in the NHL, it's a little different.

So I think uh I've got a good support system and I want to show that that I can play at this level for a long time.

So I think uh I definitely got a foot in the door like you said, I played a lot of games.

I showcase my, my skill and what I'm able to do.

I just want to show that I can improve now and obviously it's a big year coming up for everybody, but for me personally, it's gonna be huge.

So, um I'm hoping just to, you know.

Take the team out of campus here and go from there.

Sit back and be like that was.

Yeah, definitely.

I think there's quite a few, few nights with, with, you know, the boys, my boys back home and you know, you're sitting around a fire and on the weekend and just talking about stories and Obviously, a lot of my friends grew up watching, you know, these guys I get to play with and idolizing them growing up.

So being able to, you know, share some stories of, you know, how I get to hang out with Steven Stamkos and Ryan O'Reilly and all these guys on a daily basis.

It's pretty cool.

They love to hear it.

So, um, yeah, no, it's definitely it was, it was pretty special to, to, you know, reflect on, but I think it's over now and I just kind of focused on this issue.

After last season Over the team that, how did you mentally had a turn of age?

Yeah, you go home in the summer and I think after a couple of weeks, take some time off.

And once you get back on that training mindset, it's kind of like the season's over.

Obviously, you're watching playoffs and you're wishing you're there.

And, you know, I remember watching a lot of, a lot of playoff games.

I think that's it's the most fun hockey to watch.

And I'm thinking to myself that, you know, we could be competing and I hope that this year, that's the case.

So, um.

I think, yeah, once, you know, you get back in the gym, you get on the ice, kind of just focus on, on the next training camp and, and what you can do to improve and uh you know try not to worry about, you know, the past stuff.

Obviously, uh, we don't want to feel the way we did and, you know, everybody always says turn the page and don't think about it, but I think it's, it's important to, to think about, you know, those bad days that we had the ran you know, those, those losing streaks we had and how un fun it was.

So I think to kind of keep that as, as motivation to, you know, never have to feel that way is not a bad thing either.

OK, thanks.
