So at the 2003 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings had 15 minutes to make the seventh pick, but during that time, they were also trying to make a trade with three other teams.

They finally settled with the Ravens and submitted their trade to the NFL with time winding down.

The clock is winding down on the Vikings.

What's going on here?

But there was a problem.

The Ravens GM at the time said that the deal was not finalized, and so the NFL didn't execute the trade, so it never happened, and time expired for the Vikings to make a pick.

They passed.

They were then skipped over by two other teams, but eventually made their pick two spots later with the ninth overall selection.
