Two scariest words in the NBA are calf strain.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Evan Mobley, Jrue Holiday, Austin Reaves, Ty Jerome, Ben Sheppard.
Larry Nance Jr. and Pat Connaughton.
Calf strains are up 40%, but the scarier number is that time lost due to those injuries is Up by 200%.
If you had fewer games and they were more Spread out, you would have a better chance of reducing these sorts of strains and lowers Extremity injuries, and nobody seems to be particularly excited about actually moving Toward that idea.
So, here we are.
Within those 48 minutes, and within those 82 games, is a lot more mileage on the tires than previous generations.
So, I'd have a hard time believing the NBA, Adam Silver and the medical staff would say, "82 is the right number."
If we start from Scratch today, that 82 games with all the back-to-backs, that, I don't think this is the optimal number.
