Russ Dorsey's MLB Offseason winners and losers
Russ Dorsey on his offseason winners and losers in the MLB.
Video Transcript
We need to talk about the winners and losers of this offseason.
For teams like the Chicago Cubs or the New York Mets, it only took a matter of days that they were big winners.
The Cubs were able to land starter Edward Cabrera, and All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman, while the New York Mets in that same span, were able to acquire Bo Bichette, Luis Robert Jr., and Freddy Peralta.
While there have been a lot of winners this off-season, there's also been a couple of losers.
Teams like the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers' off-seasons have left a lot to be desired.
Boston saw Alex Bregman walk out the door and sign with Chicago.
They still have a logjam in their outfield, and while they were able to sign Ranger Surez to a long-term deal, a lot of their moves just leave fans going, "Eh."
Meanwhile, for the Detroit Tigers, outside of signing veteran closer Kenley Jansen, they haven't done anything else, and with this possibly being the last year of Tarik Skubal in Detroit, their offseason has been a big disappointment.
It only takes one move for a team that was a loser to be a winner.
And change the entire outlook of their offseason.
