Jared Verse is the reason that I, not as a Browns fan, sat there with my f- jaw just hitting the floor.
I understand we all wanna say, "Hey, Miles, Miles, Miles," and I get it.
FM picks is part of the identity of who the Rams are.
The Rams, since Sean McVay took over, have only not made the playoffs twice.
They are a team that's always going to be a Super Bowl contender.
They're gonna continue to be aggressive with these moves.
They're gonna continue to bring in stars.
They'll give up those first-round picks.
They trust their organization to maximize second, third, fifth, sixth round draft picks.
They do a great job of it.
I'm not questioning the Rams and the way they do business.
But the Rams have now completely gone all in, as they continue to do, for right now.
And yeah, Myles Garrett is absolutely a great piece for them.
I understand it.
I think for the Browns, they're taking the measured approach you have to take when you suck.
When you suck, you don't suddenly become good overnight.
How often do I say that we live in an Ozempic society?
Like, we need the, the foundational pieces to be built to make your team really good.
The reason the Rams can be this aggressive is because foundationally they've drafted really well when they've had picks for a lot of years.
They've built a core of players that they constantly are able to refresh with new players.
It's really astounding to watch them work.
They can afford to lose a Jared Verse because they drafted a Jared Verse in the first place.
The Rams are doing things sort of as a cheat code, but they are so far ahead of where the Browns are.
What I love for the Browns is that you have to establish a foundation.
That defensive foundation for the Browns looks incredible.
I see it for Cleveland.
I think Cleveland has done a really smart thing.
It's the first time in a long time that I think Cleveland's looked in the mirror and been honest.
This is where we are.
This is where we're building to.
Yeah.
By the time they got to sustainably good, Myles Garrett would be past his prime.
So to get younger at that position with the superstar and get draft equity, I think this is the smartest thing the Browns have done in years.
And let's not forget, the Browns did, rearrange his deal just a couple of months ago.
He had a s- a roster bonus that was due in March.
They pushed it to September.
The Browns thought ahead.
The Browns thought this through.
The Browns knew if they waited any longer on Myles Garrett, his value was just going to deteriorate.
So for a team that I don't think does a lot of things right, they did this right.
So credit to Andrew Berry and credit to the Cleveland Browns organization.
