Yesterday in the ninth inning when Kyle Tucker dropped a fly ball at the wall and very nonchalantly went after it and got booed by Dodger fans, and it feels like this is the weekend where the Kyle Tucker thing really blew up, and we need to talk about Kyle Tucker.
I believe last week on the pod you invoked the Cancun Clause for Cal Raleigh.
Yes.
And I'm wondering if we should invoke the Cancun Clause for Kyle Tucker, who's hitting, like, 0-27 at home or something like that- That's right and got benched because he was so bad at home.
The problem is that he's been moving like he's been on vacation all year long.
That's fair.
Kyle Tucker, who got $60 million to be the seventh-best player on a baseball team, not being able to handle that responsibility, I find to be kind of embarrassing.
The idea that you are the owner of the single largest single-season contract outlay in MLB history, and four, five months into that situation, your manager is benching you because you can't handle the home crowd.
Oh, and it just so happens it's on a day that Mizorowski is starting.
That is not what big dogs do.
Big dogs don't duck big dogs.
And I thought that this was just weak and excuse-ridden BS from Kyle Tucker.
I understand that Dave Roberts is the one who, like, in hilarious Dave Roberts fashion, half threw his own guy under the bus, as he so often does, in a refreshing manner.
But the fact of the matter is, you know, Kyle Tucker went 0 for 19 at home.
He did not have a single hit on the home stand across six games.
That is really bad.
And guess what?
It might not matter 'cause his Dodgers lineup is so good.
At the same time, we can all giggle about it.
Frustrations at home.
Lis- look, Kyle, a lot of people have frustrations at home.
We've all been there.
Not with 60 million- Yeah to our name.
