The NBA Finals are now wrapped up, and the NBA Draft is almost here.
And if the experts are right, this could be one of the deepest and most talented draft classes we've seen in years.
The first round takes place on June 23rd, and several future franchise players are expected to hear their names called at the very top of the board.
Let's start with a player many scouts consider the favorite to go number one, AJ Dbanza out of BYU.
The explosive six-foot-eight wing led the nation in scoring this season while showing elite shot creation, athleticism, and the ability to take over games.
Many evaluators see him as the prospect with the highest ceiling in the entire class, and he's widely projected to be selected by the Washington Wizards with the first pick.
Right behind him is Darren Peterson from Kansas.
Peterson is one of the most polished guards to enter the draft in recent years.
He can score from all three levels, create for teammates, and has the type of offensive skill set that NBA teams covet.
There has been speculation that Peterson believes he could be the number one pick, making the battle at the top of the draft one of the biggest storylines to watch on draft night.
Then there's Cameron Boozer, the Duke star and son of former NBA all-star Carlos Boozer.
Cameron combines size, strength, basketball IQ, and versatility.
Many scouts believe he's one of the safest prospects in the draft and could become an immediate impact player at the next level.
Other prospects expected to hear their names called early include Caleb Wilson, a dynamic forward with tremendous upside, and Darius Acuff Jr., an electric play-making guard whose stock has continued to rise throughout the pre-draft process.
What makes this draft so fascinating is that it's not just about the top three.
Front offices from around the league believe there is a legitimate star potential throughout the lottery and quality depth well into the first round.
That means we could see plenty of movement, trade rumors, and surprise selection as teams jockey for position.
