This is gonna be coming, and it hasn't been official yet.
When the 49ers placed Brandon Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list, ending his season, you know, they, at that point, it was, you know, known, common knowledge, and announced that he wasn't coming back to the team.
Boy, this is interesting.
I don't know if you saw this, but Jonathan Jones at NFL on CBS pretty much reports it like it's a fait accompli- Mm-hmm that Brandon Aiyuk is going to be signing with the Washington Commanders after the 49ers release him.
So I, I, I can't say I'm surprised.
Right.
I wanna get your reaction, but then I do have some very strong thoughts on this.
So, is that what you're expecting as well?
It is.
It is.
From everything I heard while at the NFL Combine is that Jayden Daniels is the one player that has had communication with Brandon Aiyuk.
I know they're very close.
He has posted pictures of him.
He has done live videos where he's FaceTiming Jayden Daniels.
They are very close.
from what I've heard, he has not been in contact with too many other players or coaches or NFL staffs, but he's been in contact with Jayden Daniels.
Adam Peters has not spoken to him, is, is what he said, obviously because he's under contract with another team, the 49ers.
But Adam Peters said to me directly, "Love the player, can't com..." you know, "Love Brandon Aiyuk as a person, can't comment on, on him as a player."
But, you know, Adam Peters knows him.
He was there.
He was part of the, the group that scouted him, that brought him to the 49ers, that were there to draft him, and so there is a relationship there.
And you would think that a lot of NFL teams are probably not going to wanna take a risk on a player who basically abandoned and walked away from their team.
But because Adam Peters has an established relationship with him from before, I would think that, you know, he would be potentially willing to give him another chance.
M- my thought on this was, you know, it might work out.
I, I just don't know that the upside outweighs the downside.
A- and what I mean by that is Jayden Daniels has a lot on his plate.
He is, you know, what, a top Was he the second pick in that draft?
Um- Mm-hmm a- and he had a great rookie season, and he led the Washington Commanders further than they could've expected to go as a rookie.
E- last year he wasn't that good.
He al- was also injured.
The, the- Mm-hmm Washington Commanders fell off dramatically.
But I just don't know why Adam Peters and Dan Quinn would put Jayden Daniels in that position where there's already so much on him.
Now he's gonna be responsible for Brandon Aiyuk too?
I think there's too much of a risk, because if, if Brandon Aiyuk comes to the Washington Commanders and, and he acts the way he did last year, that strips away at Bran- at, Jayden Daniels' credibility as a, as a team leader too, and he's so young.
I, I just, I, I think there's a lot- It's a huge risk.
It's a huge risk.
