Akina, Leng Jr. talk how Americans have embraced Irish weather
Kihei Akina and Jay Leng Jr. took care of business on Sunday morning during their Walker Cup foursome and talk about the match with Golf Channel's Brentley Romine.

Another point on the board for the Americans here in Sunday morning foursomes.
Kihei, Jay.
Jay, I want to start with that second shot on 13.
You have a knack for the creative.
How creative was that?
Yeah.
I mean, I looked at the shot, and it was in the rough, but it was sitting, sitting up nice.
And I looked at Kihei, and I was like, "This one's gonna be good.
This is- this shot is literally meant for me."
And I was kinda thinking about my shot at the USA on hole 5.
Not as crazy, but I knew if I got it anywhere in that fringe area, it would've been perfect.
I mean, I kinda juiced it a little bit, got in the rough.
Heart kinda sank for a bit.
It started rolling down, and then got behind the hole, and it, it looked like it was going in.
Can't believe it stopped just short.
Yeah, the only difference is you weren't standing right next to the hole when the ball settled.
Kihei, you guys saw every bit of conditions today: wind, rain.
How has this team embraced, you know, weather that people say doesn't really favor you guys?
I wouldn't say it doesn't favor us.
I, I feel like, you know, we all have to play in it, so you know, we're gonna come out and compete as hard as we can.
And I think we did that this morning, which is, which is good going into the afternoon.
Jay, you spent a week last week with your Stanford teammates over on the east coast of Ireland.
How do you feel like that extra preparation over in this part of the world helped you, you know, these two days?
I think it really helped me.
I mean, I think honestly, the conditions there were even more of a links test.
The fairways were pretty brown.
I mean, the fairways here are pretty, pretty nice and green and, and don't really get many dry lies here.
But I think definitely playing in the wind and, and playing some of those lower shots.
I mean, I, I do hit it pretty low already, so it wasn't too much of a challenge.
