AL East race to be 'fascinating' down the stretch
CC Sabathia reviews second-half outlooks for the Yankees and the AL East as the trade deadline looms, where Tampa Bay could give New York a "run" for its money. Then, Carsten Sabathia III shares his thoughts on the AL.

And the Yankees are gonna try to decide what they wanna do based on what Aaron Judge's, availability is gonna look like the rest of the season- Yeah but what they wanna do at the trade deadline.
How do you see the rest of the season for the Bombers kind of evolve as we head to the second half?
Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, obviously they're gonna have to make some trades.
I think they're gonna have to get you know, sew up the back end of the bullpen.
You know, hope- hopefully Judge can get healthy.
I know he had some imaging done today, said he's not ready to start baseball activity.
But I think they're still one of the better teams in the American League.
I think the Rays are gonna give them a run for their money, obviously being in that division.
But I think if they can pitch well enough, maybe who knows?
They make a trade for Scooboo.
And, but I think they need to start thinking not about the American League and they need to start thinking about playing the Dodgers in October because- It feels like every team does, right?
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
But I think them, them more specifically, they need to make trades and get the team ready to be able to play, to beat the Dodgers in October.
Carson, as you watch the modern-day Major League baseball landscape, are there teams that you really look at that you say, "Oh, that's a cohesive unit"?
Obviously the Brewers being one of those, but are, are there groups that you really look at and say, "I would love to eventually be a part of a team like this."
Yeah, I think, like you said, the Brewers.
I really love how Tampa Bay plays baseball.
They kinda go at you with a lot of different, They got power in the middle of the lineup.
They got Simpson at the bottom that can steal bases.
You know, I really like how this young White Sox team is playing.
Yeah.
Like it- I said, like, I told my uncle earlier, it's like they full court press you.
Wow.
Like, they play a very aggressive style of baseball, which I really like.
But, you know, teams that put pressure on defenses, I really like to watch.
And it, it for me, it makes the game fun, being an offensive guy.
You know, make teams make plays, put the ball in play, move runners over and, you know, have two or three guys that can drive in runs with extra base hits.
Do I even dare say the dreaded words of Red Sox?

They, they've been on fire.
Yeah, are they the hottest team in baseball right now?
Yeah.
I mean, them and the Marlins maybe.
The Marlins going into the break were, were looking mighty impressive.
But what Boston is doing on that turnaround makes the AL East feel like it is gonna be fascinating the rest of the way.
Yeah, I think, I think three teams out of the AL East will get into the playoffs.
No doubt.
I think, obviously, whoever wins the division, but I think they'll have two teams that get into the wild card, whether it's the Rays, Yankees or Red Sox.
Or if, if Blue Jays get hot, they could be in that mix too.
But I do think you will see three teams from the AL East in the, in the, in the playoffs this year.
