Alabama's Fall in Rankings and Deboer’s Coaching Challenges
Alabama, led by head coach Kalen DeBoer, faces scrutiny as they are just the fifth favorites coming out of the SEC after always being among the top-ranked.

That, I mean, think about that, how far that has fallen.
They were number one every year, if not, okay, they were number two.

O- obviously, it's a fact.

That's not even a, it's not even an opinion.
But Kalen DeBoer did coach in a national championship game three years ago.
He did.
Kalen- Poor guy Kalen DeBoer l- was the cut line team of year one of the expanded playoff format, right?
If you remember, they actually were ranked inside the top 12, but they got, again, left out due to all the different machinations of, you know, automatic bids and, and things of that nature.
They beat Georgia.
Last year, they beat Georgia again.
It's not, like, a small feat.
They, I understand, got drilled in an SEC title game, but they were in the SEC title game.
They won a playoff game.
Again, they got absolutely drilled by Indiana.
I struggle with the DeBoer thing because, fact, he's not Saban.
The level has dropped from Saban to DeBoer.
But I, I'm not asking them to settle for less, but, like, Craig, like, they're in the playoffs or in the SEC title game.

I don't Like, it, it feels a little bizarre that you're so right that he's coaching for his job this year.

Real quick, just to tie a b- tie a bow- Yeah on Kiffin.
Um- Yeah the, the best comp that I could give for Kiffin's, like, recent career, although Rick Pitino's a lot older, is sort of that.
Like, like, in the history of sports, like, think about how many coaches coached at a high level in college, went to the NFL, stopped, and then coached FAU, who I love my, my friends in Boca, make no mistake, and then went all the way back up to college again.
It's like Pitino coaching in the NBA College.

And then on the flip to Alabama, there is some concern, that they're just not as talented this year, Kevin, as they have even been in the last couple of years.
I do think it's unfair.
It was the worst position to possibly take over in college sports, trying to replace Saban.
You knew at some- Yeah point it was gonna end poorly.
Not his fault necessarily, but I think we're headed there
