Alec Bohm joins us down in the field.
Alec, first of all, I was surprised to see that this is your first five-hit game in your career, so congratulations on that.
Thank you.
Give me an idea, I mean, this is a big ballpark.
You had some balls that I think would've been out of other ballparks tonight.
Yeah, man.
We'll take it, though.
I'm not gonna complain.
No, I didn't, I didn't think you would.
But man, you were scorching those balls tonight.
Yeah, it was, it was all synced up tonight.
It, felt good to square some stuff up.
Tell us about your experience there these last couple days at, at the Field of Dreams.
How, what, what was that like for you, Alec?
Yeah, it's cool.
It's kind of a once in a career thing.
I think, you know, as a, as a team we've been able to do a couple cool things like that and, yeah, that was another one that I probably won't forget.
By the way, the Phillies travel pretty well, don't they?
Yeah, they do.
Is this unbelievable?
I mean, th- there is a I mean, this is the most I've seen in a long time on the third base side.
Yeah, no, it, it, felt good to have some, home fans here today.
Yeah.
It seems, you seem like you're getting a little bit more comfortable.
I know you play plenty at first base but, does it seem like you're feeling more comfortable on the other side of the di- of the diamond?
Yeah, I mean, some weird type of plays have happened and I've messed them up, but, I mean- we're, you know, we're just gonna keep moving along and, I'm definitely You know, I feel good moving around the bag, picking stuff, doing that and, yeah, I'm just gonna, you know, try to keep getting better over there and be the, be the best first baseman I can for these guys.
You were barre- barreling balls up today.
Just looked like you were using your hands really, really well.
I mean, the bat was flying through the zone.
Have you been working on anything, it, specifically about that, on that?
I mean, we're always kinda working, and not tweaking, but like, definitely just kinda searching for, you know, a little bit different feel.
I've been, you know, obviously not the best version of myself for most of the year, but I've had good moments and I think, you know, we're kinda starting to lock it in and I'm definitely feeling a little more comfortable each and every day.
I feel a little bit more rhythm and, yeah, just definitely, like you said, I feel a little looser in there and not, definitely didn't feel like I was, like, trying too hard or none of that today.
It, it sounds weird, but your, your hit the other night, do you think that triggered something?
I mean, i- in Iowa it looked like that was a similar swing to this one.
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, it's just like a little two strike, not trying to do too much, and then, you know, you feel the ball explode off your bat and it kinda, you know, sends a signal to your brain.
Like, I don't need to try to whack this thing as hard as I can, it'll kinda just, it'll come naturally if you let it.
All right, buddy.
Thanks for joining us.
Yeah.
We appreciate it.
Appreciate you guys.
