Alex Pereira hopeful Jon Jones matchup can still happen

Alex Pereira said he still sees a chance to face Jon Jones, a development with implications for the UFC heavyweight landscape. Pereira reiterated interest in Alex Pereira vs Jon Jones after the UFC White House card was confirmed without Jones. He is booked to face Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title at Freedom Fights 250 on June 14 at the White House, saying a Jones bout makes sense only if he wins. Dana White said Jones was never considered for the June event. Jones has since hinted at lengthy negotiations and publicly called for a UFC release. Pereira spoke on "The Ariel Helwani Show."
