Alexander Volkanovski: Jean Silva Not in a Position to Fight for the Title

Alexander Volkanovski retained his featherweight belt at UFC 325 with a unanimous decision over Diego Lopes, underscoring his second title run. In post-fight remarks, Volkanovski addressed Silva's public call for a title shot and said Silva is not yet positioned for that opportunity. He referenced UFC 325 preparations, Ilia Topuria's past win over him, and cited Lerone Murphy vs. Movsar Evloev headlining UFC London in March as more relevant to the division. Silva, now 17-3, was seemingly upset with friend Ruffy for training with Volkanovski ahead of the event and allegedly unfollowed him; Ruffy then knocked out Rafael Fiziev. After five straight finishes, Silva lost to Lopes last year and rebounded with a decision over Arnold Allen at UFC 324.
