Alexander Volkanovski open to challenging Justin Gaethje at lightweight
Alexander Volkanovski signaled openness to a third double-champ attempt, noting he would accept a UFC lightweight title fight if offered. The featherweight champion discussed facing Justin Gaethje for the lightweight belt while stressing he would not call for the shot until earned. Volkanovski added that Arman Tsarukyan should ideally receive the next opportunity at lightweight. He cited past defenses before seeking Islam Makhachev, and acknowledged Tsarukyan has not consistently been a "company man." Gaethje recently dethroned Ilia Topuria to win the undisputed lightweight title. Volkanovski has twice pursued Makhachev at 155, then lost and later reclaimed featherweight, defending against Diego Lopes. Tsarukyan skipped backup duties at UFC White House to wrestle Tony Ferguson.
