Alexandre Pantoja has a problem with how his Joshua Van loss is remembered

Former UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja said his accolades are overlooked as he readies for a title opportunity against Joshua Van at UFC 331 on Sept. 19 in Los Angeles. In recent comments, Pantoja argued that his title loss is mischaracterized, insisting Van "not beat me" and noting an arm injury suffered early in their first meeting in December. He emphasized his strength of schedule at 125 pounds, citing an eight-fight winning streak and multiple victories over top-10 opponents. Pantoja said the lack of recognition will not alter his preparation, stating his aim is to be the best while training hard for Van. The matchup offers a chance to reclaim the UFC flyweight belt he previously held.
