Andy Green, Carson Benge, Nolan McLean on Mets sweep in Cleveland
Following the Mets' 13-6 win against the Guardians on Thursday afternoon to sweep the series, interim manager Andy Green, Carson Benge, and Nolan McLean spoke with the media to discuss the team's dominant series in Cleveland.

Andy, just overall, after pretty tough day, tough deadline, what has impressed you the most about the way that the guys came out this, this week?
Yeah, they showed up to play.
I think we got good pitching all series.
Thought guys took good at-bats all series.
Defended the field well.
Even when we made mistakes, we punched back, which is fun to see.
I thought especially today, you get down two-nothing early, and then come right back with, Marcus' home run and Luis' home run.
It just got us right back into the game.
It was great to not let them have any momentum after the way the series has gone.
What is the value of winning in your minds when it, you know, probably doesn't get you to where you ultimately want to be?
There's a game to be played, and you should play to win it.
Like, that should be the cutthroat competitor that every person is that's in a clubhouse.
Like, the, the city we play for deserves that.
The fan base deserves that, and like, that's the identity you want to have.
And so , no matter how many times you've been hit, like, you gotta show up, and you gotta play to win.
And, it was a good series to do that.
There's a lot of games left still.
How do you keep that energy going?
It's on the guys in the clubhouse, 'cause like, the ability to keep it through adversity is important, too, 'cause you don't just roll all season long.
So, like, like I said, I thought that answer back, and when we got the quick three runs, really kept the energy high for the guys.
What's been the key to your at-bats lately?
See ball, hit ball.
It's about that simple.
What have the vibes been like these last three days, especially with what you've been able to do against the Guardians?
It's a new group of guys, so getting to know everyone, you know, is the first step.
But I feel like we've already gelled together quite nice, and losing all those guys hurts, but there's plenty more depth in this organization.
What's the energy like right now around the team?
You know, same as it always been.
Go out there and try and win every game.
We got some good energy in the clubhouse right now.
We got to see, Jeffrey throw the other day, and it's, pretty special.
And I think it's just, it's cool to watch guys with that much passion play the game of baseball, and it, kind of gets you back to your roots a little bit of just, like, remember why you play, and it's just to have fun.
And, it's, it's a great blessing to be 25 years old for me and playing a game that I played when I was six or seven years old, so it's awesome.
How do you guys keep this going now?
How do you keep the energy up?
Winning's a good start.
Anytime you're winning baseball games, the vibes are always a little bit higher.
I think just playing with the high energy we've been playing with.
Finding multiple ways to score like we did today, whether it's homers or kind of grinding out at-bats and making them walk us in.
I think that's, it's, it's really cool to see.
Ideally, a better start out of me could help, too, but I appreciate the, the offense keeping me in it.
