Andy Green, Christian Scott, Bo Bichette on Mets' Sunday thriller
Following the Mets' 4-2 win against the Giants, in which Bo Bichette put the team ahead with a three-run homer in the eighth inning, interim manager Andy Green, starting pitcher Christian Scott, and the hero himself, Bo Bichette, spoke with the media to discuss the thrilling come-from-behind victory.

I think everybody understands why they pitch around Juan there.
It's not novel.
And I think Bo has enough respect for Juan to understand that, but more than enough confidence in himself to handle the situation.
So we saw him rise up.
I think that's who he's been his entire career.
He's got a long list of impressive home runs, one in the World Series.
He's got big hit after big hit.
Like, he's a guy that we feel great about, don't care what they feel like the matchup is.
We got Bo in the box and a chance to win a baseball game, we feel really good.
Bo's a star.
Like, stars should play like stars when they, when they're on the baseball field, and, like, that's how we see him.
That's what we think about him.
I think when you look at who he's been since maybe the middle of May, I don't have exact dates, like, it's been really, really good, and, that's a huge swing.
A- and like I said, we've got all the confidence in the world.
No matter what's happened in a game up to that point in time, that, that Bo is gonna be equal to the task.
He knows who wants out always when they're walking in front of you.
Is there any extra juice going into that at bat?
I mean, yeah, probably a little bit.
But, I mean, I said it, he, he, deserves that respect, so.
And I just go up there with the same plan.
What's the plan?
I mean, just have a good at bat.
I mean, they had a, they had attacked me in some different ways, so I can't say I was quite sure what they would do, but just looking for a pitch up to drive.
What was that inning like overall?
Just as, as a team, it seemed like the offense kind of struggled all afternoon long, but then you guys were able to break through kind of one after the next there.
I mean, just good at bats.
Doesn't really matter how the game's gone, as long as you get it done at some point.
And, Brett had a-- came off the bench and had a huge home run, obviously.
Which got us kind of going.
Christian, those, those two subtle changes that you made, going back to the split change and, and kind of flipping the grip on the cutter, just how much did that enhance what you were able to do today?
Yeah, it felt great.
Especially like second and then third time through with Gilbert there, being able to throw the change up effectively.
You know, got good swing and misses out of it.
Got a ground ball to Eldridge in the first.
So, just having the confidence with that, still have in any count.
Obviously getting rest some reps with it again, but yeah, the cutter felt great all day, especially in getting a couple punch outs in to end with it.
So, yeah, it felt good
