The question is, has it come to an end?
Now with a fracture in his left hand, Dave Roberts says he'll be out a while, but it's not considered to be season ending.
As far as I know, hand fractures from every timeline I saw was four to six weeks.
So, oof, you look at that timeline, Tom, that looks to me like he'd be very fortunate to come back maybe the final week of the season and get back to the postseason.
I think the Dodgers, at least for the time being, have to operate with him potentially not being there for the postseason.
Now, I will say this, if they get a bye, I mean, that certainly would help the situation.
Paez has been a great player for them all season long.
But to think that he's coming back in two, three weeks from a, from a fractured hand, I, I don't see that.
And, and it also just organizationally and how the team is laid out, they can't ease him back because it's not like, "Oh, Paez, you're back.
How about you just start off DH-ing?
And then once you're able to get back into the field, then we can ramp you back up."
It's like, "No, Otani's the DH."
So if he's not ready to go, then it's the decision of like, can he actually be on the postseason roster for the first round?
And maybe, you know, they can get past the first round and they can obviously change the roster once, you know, the second round rolls around.
But like, they're gonna have to make some tough decisions because they just don't have the f- the lineup flexibility because of how the, the roster is built
