Well, Argentina has done it once again, moving into the semifinals of the World Cup, needing 120 minutes to get past Switzerland, like they needed against Cape Verde, like they almost needed against Egypt before that late flurry.
This is an Argentina team that clearly has its flaws, but maybe its biggest strength is this desire to keep pushing to find the goal.
It could have been an easy night for Argentina.
They score in the 10th minute through a header from Alexis Mac Allister, and yet instead of going into cruise control, Argentina starts to struggle.
Switzerland starts to find some joy, and then the weak point of the team, right back, is the place where Switzerland is able to find the goal.
And yet these fans who are still exiting Kansas City's stadium behind me are still believing that this Argentina team may just be able to defend the World Cup.
If they are gonna do that, they're gonna clearly need better performances against England and in the final.
But you kinda get the feeling that maybe they just do have it in them.
We'll have more coverage for you over on USA Today.
Talk to you there.
