You know, like I told you guys, I just wanted to see our operation play style come to life.
You know, I- i- in every game, you never know which guys are gonna get more ops, you know, in terms of making some plays.
But, you know, I thought for the most part we operated well.
Got some stuff to clean up.
We had three false starts that were, that, that's just not acceptable from an offensive standpoint.
Yeah.
Uh- and then looked like our rush lanes just kinda got a little out of whack.
A lot of credit to that, that quarterback.
He's a, he was a really good college quarterback, too, in terms of running around and making plays.
So obviously they made one more than us.
In real time, what stood out to you about how Carson performed, especially- Be a broken record.
The same thing that I keep seeing at, at practice, where he just gets in, out, in and out of the huddle and he doesn't make it too big.
He just lives, lives by the play.
Again, I give a lot of credit to, to Hack, but really, you know, particularly Shaw, in terms of just, you know, the way Shaw played was that.
He just, he worried about one play at a time and executing that play and, and going through your progressions, not making stuff up if it's not there, checking it down.
If we're in a bad play, a bad call, don't make it worse.
Called a keeper, you know, where we fake left, kept right, back and, and there was, I mean, eight guys in his face and, and I, I knew better than that.
I told him, I said, "Hey, if the strong safety comes off the edge, you know, just get some depth and be ready to ditch this."
And sure enough, and he goes, he goes He was laughing at the top when he saw that strong safety.
You know, it's like, I wasn't laughing 'cause it was a crap call.
But man, he saved us, you know, in, in terms of just ditching that right there, and then that's, that's, that's, that's the right play in that moment.
So just proud of the way he played, and it's a good, a good first step in Stone Point.
From an evaluation standpoint, you know, you see it in camp, you see it in practice and being cool and calm.
But to see it in the game where a lot of bullets are flying, so to speak, how did that make you feel?
Good, but not surprised.
It's, it's the same guy that I felt like you saw, watching the tape.
Didn't watch a lot of him, you know, I would say live on Saturdays by any means, 'cause I don't watch a ton of college football in the, in the moment.
But, he's been in so many big moments.
This was a really cool environment.
This, it's I'm glad that we got to play in this and, and, you know, you never know if you're ever gonna be able to play in one of these again.
So albeit a preseason game, it doesn't count in the win-loss.
But it was a cool environment for him to just kinda, you know, "Hey, it's just another game," and, and that's the way he took it, and he's been in big ones.
And you know, I, I think that's just kinda how his mindset works.
